Naughty or Nice

We were low key this year on Christmas Eve. We went to our Church's Come and Go Communion  (Tenleys first Communion - she liked the bread) and then spent the evening at my parents eating dinner, reading books, shooting fireworks, and visiting with family. Brooke received an email from Santa that showed that she had made the Nice List; we were a little worried!  We headed home around 9 o'clock and Brooke was still running full speed ahead. She sang carols and looked at lights all the way home. She put out her reindeer food and then went to bed, but she could not go to sleep. Finally around 11:30, she was out. I put out the girls Christmas gifts from Santa, and then checked on the elf in the garage. It was not going good; pieces of the 2 room Garden Villa were scattered around the garage. And the elf said "These directions are awful, I need your help." Around 2 am, the not so friendly elves, packed up their tools and headed to bed, hoping the children would stay in their beds!

My clock went off at 6 am, still no kids stirring, so we tiptoed into Brooke's room, and she sat straight up in the bed and said "Did he come?" We told her she'd have to get Tenley up to go and see. Poor Tenley was startled by the commotion Brooke was making to get her up. After a quick diaper change, the girls headed in the Living room to find their gifts. They were so excited!

Brooke received a Barbie one shoulder dress and a doll house. Tenley received a fairy costume and the aforementioned Garden Villa. They both received almost maroon (more on the pink side) Video/Bean Bag Chairs for the bonus room. Craig received the two things he asked for - a tie pin and an electric knife, and I received a camera bag incert and digital picture frames. All in all I'd say we must have been pretty good this year!

We enjoyed breakfast and then played some more before getting dressed to head to church. The service at church was wonderful. Our pastors read different passages from the Christmas story and then preached in between the passages. And after church we headed to Magee for Craigs family get together... see the
