This year was the first year I have had "help" to put up and decorate the tree. By help I mean, others in the house, under my feet, and such. With Craig being down in the back, I had to haul it downstairs, set it up all with the help of a 4 year old and an 18 month old on my hip. Yes I complained, and yes I am still complaining, but it turned out fine and fun. We got to talk about all the ornaments, where they came from, when we got them, and so on. Here are some during and after photos of some of our decorations.
During the decorating- my help. The other helper was laid up on the couch.
Check out my new tree skirt - made by yours truly during my Thanksgiving break. It only took about 4 hours. I saw one similar at Mistletoe Marketplace for $80. I spent a whopping $20 on my reproduction. Love it!
The girls tree upstairs. So proud of this tree... it was passed down to me from my Grandmother and Aunt Deanna. Not sure this is how they would have decorated it!
We've been doing some Christmas art. I saw this on Pintrest! The hands were supposed to point up, but Brooke insisted on doing it the other way and adding ornaments.
Oh, and I forgot to share our Thankful Tree. A new tradition at the Prestwoods for Thanksgiving. It was a collaboration of some of the things we are thankful for. We did this the Sunday before Thanksgiving, but I'm hoping as the girls get older we can add a few throughout the month until it is full.
